Long Term Care

In 1994, about one in eight Americans was age 65 or older. By 2030, the number of senior citizens will be one in five.

As our population ages, long-term care is becoming an issue that cannot be ignored. However, there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding this type of care. Most people mistakenly believe that Medicare will cover the cost of Long Term Care. The reality is that Medicare only covers nursing home costs for a very short period following a hospital stay to recuperate from an acute illness or injury. Most people also believe that Long Term Care is quite expensive. Actually, this type of care is surprisingly affordable.

At LS&L, we’ve been involved in Long Term Care for 15 years - longer than anyone in the Delaware Valley! LS&L offers three Long Term Care plan options: Comprehensive (covers nursing home and in-home care, Nursing Home Only and Home Care Only.

  • In-home Care – The most popular form of Long Term Care, this program covers assisted living for anywhere from a few hours (e.g., post-surgery) to 24/7 care for as long as needed. Our plans offer coverage ranging from $50 to $250 per day.
  • Nursing Home-We offer a variety of highly affordable options, some of which include a “bed reservation benefit” to hold your room if you need to go into the hospital.
  • Adult Day Care – Perfect for those who need daytime care during working hours. Adult Day Care centers can offer supervision, social and recreational activities, lunch, and possibly health related oversight during the day for seniors that may require care outside of the home or residential care facility.
